This Running on Microsleeps Mug shows a chinstrap parent dozing happily on its nest with a steaming mug close by.
New parents know the art of the tiny nap better than anyone. This penguin has perfected it, one blink at a time. Nesting chinstrap penguins nod off over 10,000 times a day in naps averaging 4 seconds, adding up to over 11 hours of sleep for each brain half.
A chinstrap penguin parent sits snugly on its stone nest over its eggs, dozing with a contented smile, a steaming mug balanced on the pebbles beside it. “Running on Microsleeps” sits under the drawing on the side that faces the room; the side you see as you drink carries a true penguin fact, and both sides carry the Chinstrap Collective wordmark.
